Then Robert Schwenn on Sat, 03/05/2008 - 15:06 said
"The ActionHooks Plugin lets You run a configured action or macro on a specified event.
But the list of available events is not very long.
You should file a feature request at the plugin feature requests tracker to add the
desired event."
Robert suggested that the scripts are run inside jEdit -- personally I think this
sucks, since you're just turning jEdit into YET ANOTHER shell, along with all the
path, parsing, and other problems that come about in managing multi-person builds,
etc. jEdit is a good editor -- let it continue to be a good editor, and not add complexity.
People seem to be too concerned about complexity -- my motto is KISS -- Keep It Short
& Simple.
So, please, can we get this into jEdit? Multi-Edit and Source Insight, two not-free
Windows-only editors, that I cannot use on this Ubuntu box, have had this 'feature'
for 10 years or more.
Thanks in Advance,
Alf
